Gather All Required Shipping Documents
You’ll need a copy of a valid vehicle registration or copy of the title (Front and Back). If there’s a lien on the vehicle, you’ll also need a permission to ship letter from your lien holder. You’ll also need to complete our online booking agreement. You’ll then be emailed a copy of the signed contract and your Shipping Specialist will review the documents to ensure everything is in order and then give you a call to discuss the next steps, which includes preparing your vehicle for shipment and scheduling your shipping dates.
Prepare Your Vehicle
Many of the preparation requirements are similar to those for your government-shipped vehicle, which you may already be familiar with. These include the maximum ¼ tank fuel requirement, and the necessity for a clean vehicle. We will send you a comprehensive checklist via email to ensure that you don’t overlook any important details. However, the main difference is that you are not permitted to leave any personal belongings in the vehicle you are shipping at your own expense. This can sometimes catch customers by surprise. There is one exception to this rule, which is if you opt to ship your vehicle in a container. We encourage you to discuss this option with your Shipping Specialist.

- The vehicle should only have tools that it came with from the factory (no toolboxes)
- The vehicle should only have auto manufacturer-installed roof racks
- The vehicle should not have tailgate covers, nets, or bras
- The vehicle should not have extra speakers or equalizers if not bolted
- No vehicle decorative elements or ornaments are allowed
- Ensure you remove all seat covers
- It’s also recommended that you remove the license plates
- All keys to all vehicle compartments must be provided, including tire locks (All vehicle compartments are inspected by the Department of Homeland Security – any vehicle without access to locked compartments will be detained.)
- You must also disengage the vehicle’s alarm system before shipping if possible
- 1 copy of Power of Attorney is required if other than that of the Spouse of Service Member
